Top 3 Celonis Alternatives for Process Mining in 2024
93% of business leaders claim to be interested in adopting process mining solution within their organizations. Yet, 79% of the same executives mentioned that they had not adopted the tool.
30% of these executives explained the lack of adoption for process mining with the complex IT landscape. For a business that wants to leverage process mining for the first time, choosing the right vendor can create such complexity since vendors offer various tools with various capabilities.
Process analysts might come across Celonis while doing their product research, which claims to be a market leader with a 60% share.
In this article, we will go through the potential cons for Celonis and compare it to the top competitors in the process mining market.
Shortcomings of Celonis
Celonis offers the Celonis Execution Management System, which integrates core process mining capabilities with other critical features and machine learning and process mining algorithms, such as:
- Task mining
- DTO
- Automation
Based on the user review data from public sources, a few negative points reduce user experience with Celonis EMS:
- Ease of use: Although on G2, Celonis is rated as the top 3 easy to use, 7% of the reviewers found Celonis difficult to use.
- Support: The majority of reviews complained about customer support. As seen in Figure 1, Celonis has the lowest customer service rank among its alternatives. According to the users on G2, the customer help team takes a long time to address the tickets.
- User interface: Users demand simple options like drag and drop functionality. Users claim that Celonis is a low-code platform where most analytics are done through commands (rather than drag and drop) and SQL knowledge is helpful while using Celonis (See Figure 2).
- Integration: The users experienced difficulty while integrating Celonis with other tools. They detected errors or waited a long time to customize the tool (See Figure 2 & 3).
- Features: The users evaluated task mining capability as inefficient and far behind the competitors (See Figure 3).
- Pricing: The product’s price is rated as high compared to the other products in the market. As seen in Figure 2 & 3, Celonis has the lowest pricing flexibility.
Now, we will go over three Celonis alternatives to evaluate whether these vendors can address the downsides we detected for Celonis.
