Benchmark methodology of top antidetect browsers

We tested the majority of the antidetect browsers mentioned in the article ourselves to verify their performance based on their:

  • Effectiveness in managing multiple social media accounts
  • Capability to create social media accounts in bulk
  • Ability to automate basic social media tasks
  • Data scraping from major social media platforms

Note: Even if you use an antidetect browser to alter your browser’s fingerprint settings, you may not overcome stringent anti-bot measures (e.g., Amazon or LinkedIn Figure 1). These sites blocked our access and presented challenges like reCAPTCHA to verify that we are human.

What is an antidetect browser?

An antidetect browser is a web browsing tool that leverages technologies  like data spoofing to preserve internet users’ anonymity.

Antidetect browsers feature a distinct browser header and digital fingerprint. They are mainly used to improve online privacy or handle the creation and management of numerous social media accounts.

How do antidetect browsers work?

Antidetect browsers enable users to create and run multiple browsers on a single device simultaneously. They allow for centralized user management and access. Each antidetect browser has a unique IP address and operating system.

Why do you need antidetect browsers?

Most websites use tracking technologies, such as cookies, digital fingerprint or web beacons to collect information about their visitors for various purposes, such as providing customized content, targeted advertising, fraud Detection or bot detection.

For instance, when you make a connection request to a website employing web tracking technology, such as browser fingerprinting, the target server can access and collect information sent by your browser, like your geolocation and timezone (Figure 1). If you are located within a restricted region, the website will block your IP address to prevent you from accessing geo-restricted content.

An anti detect browser changes your digital fingerprint parameters, such as your actual IP address, operating system and user agents to conceal your digital identities and circumvent IP bans.
