What is JDE Orchestrator?

The JD Edwards Orchestrator, also known as JDE EnterpriseOne Orchestrator, is designed by Oracle. It can build, test, and deploy orchestrations. JDE orchestrator studio enables citizen developers and business analysts to independently orchestrate business processes. The key components of the tool:

  • Orchestration: The master process that integrates the following four components.
  • Service Request: Service requests invoke a JD Edwards or Java application.
  • Rule: Incoming data is evaluated against pre-existing conditions to determine the orchestration’s processing method.
  • Cross-Reference: Utilizes user-defined tables to reference incoming data with EnterpriseOne information
  • White List: The initial validation gate, ensuring the device is checked against a pre-defined list.

Here is a brief video explaining the tool:

How does JDE Orchestrator work?

  • AIS Server runs JD Edwards applications in the background. Orchestrator processes orchestrations saved to the AIS Server.
  • Transforms external data into integrated business processes in EnterpriseOne.
  • This schedules orchestrations to run automatically and receives results directly on mobile devices for on-the-go access.

JDE Orchestrator training

JD Edwards (JDE) Orchestrator training teaches users to automate and integrate business processes using JD Edwards system. This training enhances data utilization and process automation, benefiting business analysts, developers, and IT professionals. It is delivered by consulting firms such as Terillium, Syntax, and GSI.

JDE Orchestrator features

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator Studio enables users to to access a wide range of features, including industry-specific functionalities in manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, such as:

  • Payroll management
  • Inventory management
  • Order management
  • Project financial management.

It also offers a variety of general features to cater the business needs like:

Integration

The Orchestrator tool integrates with the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Application Services Server (AIS server) to store manually created orchestrations. Additionally, it allows users to set up notifications via text, email, or EnterpriseOne, sending alerts based on watchlist thresholds. This feature ensures employees are informed of new data, enabling quick responses to automated tasks.

IoT Data Integration

The Orchestrator tool enables integration with IoT devices, allowing businesses to collect, filter, analyze, and act on real-time IoT data. This capability helps companies react to potential disruptions and avoid them in real-time. Moreover, by leveraging historical data, businesses can continuously improve their operations, making informed decisions and optimizing processes over time.

Notifications

Notifications serve as an extension of the Orchestrator framework, empowered to evaluate EnterpriseOne data and REST-enabled external services to discern critical conditions or events. Messages are promptly dispatched to subscribers necessitating immediate attention, often embedding action links for swift response to enhance better business data and enable actionable business processes.

Scheduled orchestrations

The Orchestrator boasts a built-in Scheduler, streamlining the timing of orchestrations seamlessly. For example, orchestrations can periodically surveil the EnterpriseOne system for events such as credit limit violations, facilitating timely intervention to optimize both the field operations and overall business performance.
