Enterprise data collection benchmark results
All benchmarked providers provided reliable services with high success rate (at least ~80%) and fast response times (1-2 seconds) for 5,000 parallel requests. Increasing the number of parallel requests increased response times and reduced success rates.
- For example, Bright Data residential proxies’ success rate decreased from 96.5% to 93.4%, and response time increased from 1 second to 3.6 seconds as we scaled up parallel requests from 5k to 100k.
- Bright Data, Oxylabs, and Smartproxy experienced less performance degradation than other players.
However, please note that this was observed in a single test. Even though that test involved 5M requests sent to each vendor, leading to 30 million requests, it is possible that vendors’ performance can change over time.
We used 3 URL groups in testing:
- 1800 URLs in total from 10 e-commerce websites
- 1,100 URLs in total from the 5 major social media domains.
- 200 query result pages in total from google.com and bing.com
The key evaluation metrics were as follows:
- Effectiveness: Measured by the success rate.
- Scalability: Essential for large-scale scraping tasks, assessed using:
- Scraping time per page.
- Variation in scraping time per page.
For difficult-to-access pages, we suggest using web unblockers as they offer the most dependable solution, consistently delivering success rates exceeding 90% without the need for intricate configurations.

Bright Data
Bright Data provides one of the largest proxy pools and supports all proxy types: residential (shared, dedicated), datacenter (shared, rotating, dedicated), ISP (shared, rotating, dedicated), and mobile (shared, dedicated).
Residential and mobile proxies target country, city, ASN, and ZIP code levels, while datacenter and ISP proxies support country-level targeting.

Oxylabs
Oxylabs proxy network covers residential, ISP (rotating and static), datacenter (shared, dedicated, and rotating), and mobile proxies.
Residential and mobile proxies rotate by default and offer global coverage. Advanced targeting options allow for targeting by country, city, state, and even GPS coordinates.
ISP proxies are static IPs shared among up to three users. Self-service plans are currently available in the U.S. and France.
Datacenter proxies are available in shared and dedicated formats, with coverage in the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Romania, Belgium, and Japan.

Decodo
Decodo’s residential and mobile proxies offer global coverage with granular targeting options. Zip code-level targeting is available specifically for U.S. locations. Residential proxies are rotating by default, supporting sticky sessions lasting up to 60 minutes.
ISP proxies are available in 12 countries. Datacenter proxies are offered in both shared and dedicated formats. Dedicated datacenter proxies are available in the U.S., while shared datacenter proxies are available in the U.S., Australia, Israel, and various EU locations.
Additionally, Decodo provides a free anti-detect browser bundled with their proxy services.

Webshare
Webshare provides datacenter (shared, dedicated, rotating)
residential and ISP (shared, dedicated, rotating) proxy services. You can customize your proxy plan by selecting the number of IPs and preferred locations. However, the provider offers more limited location coverage compared to competitors like Decodo and Bright Data.

NetNut
NetNut sells shared residential proxies, rotating datacenter proxies, and ISP proxies. Residential proxies support targeting by city, state, and ASN. All NetNut services are available through subscription-only plans, with pricing starting at $99.

IPRoyal
IPRoyal offers dedicated datacenter proxies from 50 countries, ISP proxies from over 30 countries, globally available residential proxies, and mobile proxies from 7 countries.
All proxy types are available through subscription-based pricing, but residential proxies also support a pay-as-you-go option. While there’s no free trial, ISP and mobile proxies can be purchased with a one-day subscription, allowing you to choose the number of IPs.

SOAX
SOAX offers mobile and residential proxies with global coverage, ISP proxies limited to the U.S., and rotating datacenter proxies from 15 countries. City and ASN-level targeting are included at no extra cost.

What are enterprise proxy servers?
Enterprise proxies are intermediary servers utilized by large organizations and businesses for various purposes, including security, anonymity, and regional restrictions.
How to choose enterprise proxy providers?
Scalability can be a critical requirement for enterprises.
For example, your business may require near-real-time web data from hundreds of thousands of webpages. While a small proxy provider may be able to serve that web data, doing it near real-time increases the complexity of the operation, and smaller providers may not be the right providers for such requirements.

Real-life enterprise proxy case studies
Enterprises typically scrape various domains, including e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Target, Walmart, and social media like X.com and LinkedIn. For more specific use cases, see:
Omnichannel for brands and retailers
Advantage Solutions provides services in sales, marketing, and retail to assist brands and retailers in boosting both online and in-store sales. Canopy, a brand of Advantage Solutions, tried to extract publicly available data from multiple web sources for its customer. However, gathering data using the same IP address blocked Canopy from web sources. Canopy used Bright Data’s residential and datacenter proxies to access and extract public data without getting banned by the target website. 1
Web data scraping in bulk
Qubit3 Technologies, a new-age tech company that offers software development services, needed to access and collect large amounts of data for quality software development. Collecting massive amounts of data from different targets and geo-locations without changing the IP address results in IP blocks. The company integrated Smartproxy’s residential IPs into their in-house web scraping tools to bypass anti-scraping measures. They were able to collect the needed data without interruptions. 2
Personalization
Railofy is a travel technology company that provides a range of services to train passengers, including on-seat food delivery, ticket reservations, and waitlist travel guarantees. Railofy needed to gather public data to feed its pricing algorithm, enabling it to adjust its pricing accordingly. However, it is challenging to gather large amount of data to optimize its prices and offer personalized pricing. The company utilized Bright Data’s Datacenter IPs and Residential IPs to collect required online travel data like flight dates, and ticket prices. They could accelerate the data collection process and gather vast amounts of public web data. 3
