At AIMultiple, we constantly use generative AI technologies: We built dozens of custom GPTs and benchmarked the latest AI tools such as AI agents, cloud GPUs, and e-commerce AI video generators. Based on our experience and benchmarks, here are the top tools:

Top 10 GenAI Tools

Below are the top 10 most popular GenAI tools based on their total web traffic, obtained from WorldBank’s database.1 The tools are ranked based on their traffic with the exception of DeepSeek, as it was not present during WorldBank’s research. We constantly update this list as the landscape of GenAI is ever-changing.

ChatGPT

Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is a conversational AI model known for its human-like text generation. It’s widely used across both professional and casual contexts, including customer service, personal assistance, content creation, coding assistance.

GPT-3 and its newer versions like GPT-4 scored in the top 10% of the Bar-Exam and received similar scores in other tests like like SAT, LSAT, and GRE. The newer models are also able to perform “zero-shot” learning (handling tasks with minimal or no examples) more effectively than previous versions.

Microsoft holds about 49% of OpenAI’s equity, with an investment of $13 billion. Additionally, it supplies computing power to OpenAI via its cloud service, Microsoft Azure.

Best for: General-purpose conversational AI and text-based assistance.

DeepSeek

In January 2025, DeepSeek unveiled its AI model, DeepSeek-R1, which matches the capabilities of leading models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT but was developed at a fraction of the cost—approximately $6 million compared to the $100 million spent on similar models.

DeepSeek’s commitment to open-source development means its models are freely available for use, modification, and integration into various applications. This approach has democratized access to advanced AI technologies, allowing a broader range of users and organizations to benefit from their innovations.

Best for: Open source alternative to ChatGPT

DeepAI

DeepAI offers a suite of AI tools, including text video, and image generation, that are easily accessible to users looking for straightforward AI solutions. It’s useful for creating simple artwork, generating text, and exploring other AI-driven tasks without needing extensive setup.

While highly accessible, the quality of the generated images and videos is questionable, see the image below for an example. The background does not explicitly indicate that it is indeed Istanbul. Also, adding explicit statements such as “make Bosporus visible” did not necessarily change the result.

Best for: Accessible and straightforward AI tools for image and text generation.

GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot is an AI coding assistant that provides real-time suggestions and autocompletions within the development environment. Trained on a wide range of code, it helps developers write code more efficiently, saving time and reducing errors.
