We benchmarked different proxy types for LinkedIn scraping and account management. A proxy alone won’t keep a LinkedIn account safe. Success comes from slow, human-like actions, one high-quality residential or mobile proxy per account, gradual warm-ups, and avoiding aggressive automation.

How to configure proxies for LinkedIn automation
- Manual-like automation (≤ 100 LinkedIn activities per day): LinkedIn aggressively throttles invitations.1 Use a static residential IP per account. You can use proxies with automation tools, such as Linked Helper, or run them inside an anti-detect browser.
- Heavy scraping: At this scale, LinkedIn begins to examine sessions, TLS fingerprints, and request cadence across events. For instance, after ~300 HTML requests, you can use rotating proxies to change the IP address and start fresh for a more human-like pacing.
- Short-lived tasks (e.g., email extraction): Low-cost datacenter proxies are ideal. However, LinkedIn’s anti-abuse engine flags datacenter ASN ranges and blocks them. You can consider buying dedicated datacenter IPs.
The best LinkedIn proxy providers
Bright Data offers a purpose-built LinkedIn Proxy endpoint and a LinkedIn Scraper API, which expose ready-made routes for profiles, jobs, companies, and more.
Its 150 M-IP residential cloud and 7 M-IP 4G/5G mobile network let you stack granular filters, country, state, city, ZIP, ASN, even precise latitude/longitude or the exit node’s operating-system hash (Windows, macOS, Android), so you can combine, for example, city + ASN for a specific ISP inside one metro area.
Every zone supports both HTTP(S) and SOCKS5, and concurrency is limited only by your plan’s allotted parallel connections (≈150 on Business tiers, higher on Enterprise), not by any hard cap in the proxy itself. Bright Data lets you switch any zone to a Pay-As-You-Go model with no monthly commitment.

Visit WebsiteDataImpulse residential proxies are one of the most affordable options, priced at $1 per GB. They also provide a premium residential network, which is five times more expensive than regular residential proxies.
Filter options include county, state, city, ASN, and ZIP code. DataImpulse’s proxy services operate on a pay-as-you-go model, with a minimum transaction value of $50.

Visit WebsiteProxyEmpire offers 9 million residential proxies and 5 million 4G/5G mobile IPs sourced from 170 countries, enabling the management of multiple LinkedIn accounts. Their LinkedIn proxy servers are compatible with various anti-detect browsers.
Residential and mobile proxies provide targeting options by region, state, city, and ISP or mobile carrier. However, their static residential proxies and datacenter proxies are limited to country-level targeting.
IPRoyal sells residential and mobile proxies for social media automation with sticky and random rotation modes. Users can select a country, state, or city. The IP rotation interval depends on the chosen plan.
With the 1-day plan, you can manually rotate your IP address every 6 minutes. 1-, 30-, 60-, and 90-day subscriptions are available for mobile and residential proxies.
PrivateProxy offers LinkedIn residential proxies that work seamlessly with anti-detect browsers such as GoLogin and Incognito. If you use in-house LinkedIn bots, their LinkedIn proxies can be integrated with these tools.
The proxy service provider supplies static and rotating residential proxies, with exit nodes available exclusively in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, and South Africa.
Proxy-Seller offers static datacenters, ISPs, mobile, and a rotating residential pool, all selectable via GET /proxy/list/{type}. Residential proxies let you encode country, city, ISP, or sticky-session parameters directly into the username. At the same time, static products support both login-password and IP-whitelist authorization on the same order.
Sub-accounts isolate traffic limits and geo rules. Mobile-CRM endpoints provide hardware-level control of 4G/5G modems, and price calculators, along with reference data, enable you to script purchases without leaving your code.
Webshare’s social media proxy offering includes rotating residential, static residential, and data center options. Rotating Residential proxies are drawn from a large shared pool and rotate automatically with every request; you don’t need to refresh them manually.
Static Residential (ISP) proxies come in three flavours: premium (shared), private (shared with at most two users), and dedicated (exclusive to a single user).
For plans that provide a fixed proxy list (static residential or datacenter), you typically receive two complete list refreshes per month. You can also replace individual IPs, up to 500 per month, if you purchase the 500-replacements add-on.
Benchmark-based recommendations
Best LinkedIn scraping proxy strategies
Does your company have a dedicated, experienced tech team specializing in web scraping? If
- Yes, we recommend using third-party datasets. Using datasets is the easiest option to obtain LinkedIn data. Other approaches are technically more challenging, considering the platform’s stringent anti-scraping measures. LinkedIn data providers, such as Bright Data, employ data collection experts and use techniques that comply with LinkedIn’s terms of service, consistently providing validated data.
- No, you can leverage proxy servers. However, LinkedIn is the most challenging social media platform to access using proxies, due to its strong security measures that aim to ensure only legitimate users can access the site.
We tested various proxies to access social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter (X). We were able to scrape data for a few pages before encountering CAPTCHA. However, LinkedIn immediately flagged our IP address when we first attempted to access it, regardless of the type of proxy (e.g., residential, mobile, ISP, or datacenter) we used.

Manage multiple LinkedIn accounts
While you can create multiple LinkedIn accounts with different emails, LinkedIn’s User Agreement allows only one personal account.2 Violating this policy may result in account suspension. However, companies and organizations can create multiple company pages.
Are you OK with LinkedIn banning the accounts you manage? If
- Yes, see LinkedIn automation tools: These tools offer a no-code interface to program repetitive actions (e.g., connection requests) on LinkedIn. They replicate human behavior by varying the timing of connection requests and messages, which helps minimize the risk of being flagged by LinkedIn.
- Some LinkedIn automation tools, such as Expandi, Skylead, and Linked Helper, also offer the option to use custom proxies.
- Other LinkedIn automation tools, such as Meet Alfred, manage their own proxies.
- The use of these LinkedIn automation tools violates LinkedIn’s Terms of Use.
- No, we haven’t come across a reliable solution for you. Here are some of our experiments:
- Using proxies with standard browsers would not help: Proxies don’t automatically adjust identifiable browser characteristics, such as user-agent strings, browser types, or operating systems, and other browser configurations remain unchanged. These attributes can still be utilized to identify users online.
- Using proxies with antidetect browsers also did not work. These browsers permit adjustments to elements such as JavaScript objects and user agents. However, the platform initially required manual action, such as solving image puzzles and completing CAPTCHA. Despite solving the CAPTCHA, the outcome was the same; LinkedIn still restricted access to its platform.

Multiple LinkedIn account management is popular for use cases like outreach, but it is not easy to achieve because LinkedIn’s strict policies against automation make it challenging.
Why free proxies will get your LinkedIn account banned
Using a free proxy is the fastest way to flag your account or get your scraper permanently blocked. Here are the reasons why free proxies fail:
- Publicly blacklisted ASNs: Free proxies often come from abused datacenter subnets (ASNs) that are already on global blacklists (such as Spamhaus).
- Transparent headers: Most free HTTP proxies do not strip the “X-Forwarded-For” header. This tells LinkedIn: “I am a proxy, and the real user’s IP is [Your Real IP].”
- Bad neighbor effect: You share free IPs with thousands of other users, including hackers and spammers. If anyone using that IP triggers a security flag, LinkedIn instantly bans the IP, locking you out mid-session.
